Project Description

Wnt signaling maintains the distal lung stem cell niche, and is activated upon injury to restore the epithelial barrier. I have developed an ex vivo lung slice culture system, to observe both homeostasis and injury. Utilizing this system, we have treated cultures with FZD specific inhibitors to understand of WNT/FZD interactions that directly or indirectly control the fate of the stem cell.
